I had a really great show yesterday.

The weather was hot, I got a bad sun burn, and my allergies were driving me crazy, but I had such great sales that all of the aggravation was worth it. This is my second time since moving back to this area to set up at the Rockwall Aspasian's Fair. I have been very successful both time, and I have to say that it is a very organized and well run event. My only complaint was my location. I probably could have doubled my sales had I been in the main area. But, I understand that successful and popular events work this way. I just have to bide my time until a space opens up in the main area. I will definitely continue to do this show each season.
I also had the "privilege" to be next to the bouncy house. The noise coming from the air compressor thing was really loud which made communicating with my customers difficult, especially since I am hard of hearing.
I have to say, though, that it did provide some entertainment for me. Not really from the children playing, but from the parents. This is the scene that I witnessed over and over again.
"Billy, it is time to go. Come out now."
A minuet later - "Billy, we need to go. Come on out and put your shoes on."
There is no response from Billy; he just keeps on bouncing.
"Billy, I said lets go!" "I'm not kidding, get out now!" "Billy, you are going to be in so much trouble if I have to come in there after you!. If you don't come out now you will be grounded for the rest of the weekend, get out here now!!!!!"
Another minuet goes by.
"Hey Billy, come on out and I will get you some cotton candy." And, Billy comes out.
Just change the name, vary the degree of yelling a bit, and even throw in a cuss word on occasion. I love to observe human behavior. The parents were willing to do just about anything to avoid taking off their shoes and going in after their kid. I couldn't help but laugh and be so grateful that my kids are beyond the bouncy house years.
I must go now and get ready for church. I am taking my daughter out shopping for her birthday this afternoon. It has been a while since we have spent a day together, just the two of us. I am looking forward to it.
Hopefully, in the next couple of days, I will be putting some new items in my Etsy shop.
Today I am grateful for: snow cones on hot days, Benadryl, puffs with lotion, people who get what I do, aloe vera gel, and big, soft, fuzzy house shoes.
